Karen has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry focusing on finance, capital markets and risk management in retail lending. Most recently, she was the President and CFO of Xceed Mortgage Company, an alternative mortgage lender listed on the TSX. Throughout her tenure with Xceed, Karen developed the securitization and funding programs to fund over $5 billion in alternative residential mortgages, along with building the financial, market risk management, and systems infrastructure to manage the business.
Prior to Xceed, Karen was Treasurer of Amicus Holdings Inc, a subsidiary of CIBC, and was located in the U.S. This was a retail banking operation, for which she ensured regulatory compliance in U.S. and Canada on all balance sheet related policies and guidelines, in addition to establishing the treasury operations. Prior to Amicus, Karen held management positions in both large financial institutions and small start-up operations, focused mainly in the areas of financial analytics, and structured finance.
